Samsung Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship 2024: Join the Ultimate Gaming Showdown in SEA and Oceania!
Samsung Electronics is excited to announce the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship , a premier esports event that brings together professional and amateur gamers from Southeast Asia (SEA) and Oceania. Building on the success of last year’s Odyssey Cup Influencer Invitational and the recently concluded Campus League, the 2024 Odyssey Cup aims to unite an even larger gaming community, offering a more thrilling and immersive experience for both players and spectators.
Open to all gaming enthusiasts aged 18 and above, this edition of the Odyssey Cup offers a comprehensive competitive gaming experience, while also showcasing Samsung’s new gaming monitors designed specifically for esports. The new Pro vs. Amateur format allows aspiring gamers to compete against seasoned professionals, creating a dynamic and inclusive environment that caters to both dedicated players and casual gamers. The tournament will feature Dota 2, a classic game renowned for its strategic depth and vibrant esports community.

The tournament structure includes dual rounds of qualifiers, with representatives from six SEA markets—Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—competing to advance to the SEA finals. They will face off against four invited pro teams for a chance to move on to the grand finals, where the top six teams will progress. Simultaneously, two teams from Oceania—New Zealand and Australia—will join the final playoffs, completing the lineup of eight teams vying for the regional championship title and a cash prize pool of up to $20,000.
The tournament will begin with online qualifiers from September 21 to 25, followed by the SEA finals on September 28 and 29. The top eight teams will then compete in a thrilling grand finale at the Hatten Hotel in Melaka, with playoffs scheduled from October 10 to 13.

“Samsung is committed to advancing esports through innovation and collaboration. The Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship embodies our ongoing dedication to supporting the esports community and shaping the future of competitive gaming,” said Leslie Goh, Head of Regional Display Solutions, Samsung Southeast Asia & Oceania.
Samsung is eager to elevate the esports experience, ensuring that the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship is not just a tournament but a vibrant celebration of gaming culture and community.
